Description:
What problem did the client want to solve with the project?
These Clients had a beautiful stone patio and a meticulously manicured yard but got a lot of afternoon sun and needed to add some means of shade.
How did you solve the problem?
- Built a large pergola that attached to the house and extended throughout the majority of the existing patio area
Additional Details:
From each cut, down to the elegant black hardware, this project was all about the details!
Designed to provide shade in a backyard with constant direct sun, this custom pergola was constructed from clear vertical grain western red cedar. Often stained or painted, this Client decided to let the structure age naturally into a dusty gray color that went better with the overall aesthetic of the home. Lastly, we used all Simpson black powder coated hardware which added both an element of sophistication as well as structural strength. Spanning a distance of 35 feet, this custom cedar pergola was a seamless addition to an already beautiful home.
Materials Used:
- Vertical grain red cedar
- Simpson Strong-Tie outdoor accent hardware
